Speaking of which, the Egyptian mummy which had been part of the Tradescant
donation to Oxford University (now in the Ashmolean Museum) was given to
the Bodleian Library some time in the 18th century - and disappeared without
trace ...
November 8th this year sees the 400th anniversary of the Bodleian Library's
first opening to readers.
