Re: Macmillan's magazine

Dear Jane,

There is a brief note about Macmillan's Magazine at:
http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/Jmacmillan.htm

A great deal has been written about the Victorian serial.
One online resource that includes a brief bibliography on the subject is:
http://www.umd.umich.edu/casl/hum/eng/classes/434/geweb/THEHISTO.htm

A standard work is: The Victorian serial by Linda K. Hughes and Michael Lund.
(Charlottesville: The University of Virginia Press, 1991).

Other books on the subject include: Modes of production of Victorian novels by N. N.
Feltes (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1986) and Victorian novels in serial
by J. Don Vann (New York: Modern Language Assocation of America, 1985.)

A more recent publication that relates to the Victorian serial is : Serializing
fiction in the Victorian Press by Graham Law (Houndsmill, Basingstoke ; New York:
Palgrave, 2000).

I hope these resources may be some help.

Cheers,
Albert Masters
