Cataloging question

500/1: : |a Lacks frontispiece. |5 DLC

But, our copy has the frontispiece and we have traced the artist and engraver. We would like to eliminate this note when we upload our enhanced record to OCLC, but are unsure of the propriety of eliminating the |5 DLC note. As there is no indication on the public side that it is a copy specific note for DLC, it seems like the proper thing to do, especially as the note following the lacks frontispiece describes the frontispiece.

500/2: : |a Frontispiece by John Devoto and engraved by William Henry Toms.

Still, we don't want the DLC cataloging police to bust us. We do leave in |5 DLC added entries because they have (Library of Congress) in the entry, clearly indicating the source. Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you resolve it?

Thanks!
