Now available from Up-Country Letters, a rare bookseller, Catalogue Four, A Fable for Critics.

Containing 123 items by and about the subjects of James Russell Lowell's long poem published by Putnam in 1848 and reprinted many times then and thereafter.  With a couple of items related to Amy Lowell, who wrote A Critical Fable, "sequel to A Fable for Critics", in 1922.  The present catalogue includes books by and about  Brownson, Bryant, Cooper, Duyckinck, Dwight, Emerson, Fuller, Halleck, Hawthorne, Holmes, Irving, Judd, Longfellow, Lowell, J.R., Lowell, A., Parker, Poe, Thoreau, Whittier, and Willis.  And, there are some cartes de visite and cabinet photographs of some of the above.
