Mr. Wilkie and other ExLibrians:
My posting here had indeed been a last resort, and I do apologize if it
ruffled feathers. My immediate background is Reference, and when a
patron asked for something, I did everything I could to locate the
materials for them. After exhausting all other sources, I decided to
try here. Thanks to people who responded, I have managed to get a
couple leads on sources for purchase (THANK YOU!), confirmation of
alternate sources for microfilm versions of the text (Thanks to you
too!), and a location that the patron can travel to in order to view a
"real" copy (Thanks to you too!).

As is stated in the Exlibris Information file, which all subscribers
receive, libraries, museums, and other not-for-profits are exempt from
the
policy that otherwise bars trying to solicit or sell individual items
on
the list. Only those institutions are exempt, however. As in the
recent
case, I have always assumed--and it seems to be so--that such
institutions
would appeal to Exlibris only as a desperate last resort. If such
postings
got to be too frequent, the policy would have to be rethought.
