Four years ago, I posted the following message, with no results.
Will I be more lucky this time?

I am looking for information on the following booklet:
Author: Macnab, J., Examiner to the Liverpool Local Marine Board, Author of
"Going to Sea," ETC.
Title: Catechism of the Law of Storms for the Use of Sea Officers. With
Instructions for Answering Papers on the Subject in the Board of Trade
Examinations, and Diagrams Illustrating both the Circular & Incurving
Theories, A list of the Best Authors, &c. Second Edition
Publisher: George Philip & Son, 32 Fleet Street, London, Liverpool,
Date: 1888 (Second Edition)
Pagination and format: 39 pages, foldable map, 12.5 x 18.5 cm.
The book has a small stamp from "Capt. Norbury Nautical Academy, 88
Saint-James Street, Liverpool" and what seems a hand-written inscription
signed by this Capt. Norbury: "Laws of Storms also Reduction of Soundings??
St Georges Channel, Irish Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Azimuth, Line, Azimuth,
Chart Sextant with all the nesscity (sic) of Seamanship."
Does someone know anything about this "Nautical Academy" (opening, closing,
etc.) or the author?
p.s. This booklet has definitively served, with underlines and another
hand-written note reading: "Jim? Roberts 16 Terrace Road, Port Madoc, North
Wales, 26 July 1889 wrote this at Hamburg loading mollases (sic) for
Dunkirk France"
Thank you.
