I am a studnet in this program right now. I am part of the distance education program. I can only speak for myself but I like the program. Sometimes dealing with teachers who have not taken the time to learn how to use Blackboard, a tool used in teaching some courses at SJSU, can try my patience but over all I like it. I am only in my second semester, but so fart one of my favorite classes has been libr. 287, when I took it the topic was digitization. If you have not already been to the website it is slisweb.sjsu.edu. Good luck!

I am applying to the MLIS program at San Jose State University for the
Fall of 2003.
Surprisingly, this is the only ALA accredited program in the San
Francisco Bay Area.
And since I have far and away too many books for my own mobile good, I
cannot easily re-locate.
I was wondering if anyone has any advice to share about this program.
Any there any particularly well-regarded classes? Great, inspiring
teachers?
Is this program known for being strong in certain areas?
I would very much appreciate any comments you may have.
Also, I have been looking for a ranking or comparative study of library
schools.
If anyone has a link to such a study I would love to click it.
Replies off-list or on-list are both welcome
Many thanks.
