Director, Center for Southwest Research/Special Collections (CSWR)

This is a full-time 12 month library faculty tenure track position.
Appointment will be at a professorial rank appropriate to qualifications
and experience. The position is responsible to the Dean of Library Services.
Required qualifications:
ALA accredited MLS or related degree. A minimum of five years of
progressively significant and relevant experience in a university or major
research library. Demonstrated strong administrative experience in leading
and managing a broad range of library special collections and archival
functions.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience including budget administration, integrated library information
technology, personnel management, and one or more academic or program
areas, such as research, curatorial, preservation, exhibit, and education.
Commitment to teambuilding and public service. Expertise in communicating
verbally and in writing and proven ability to work collegially with a
diverse audience including university administrators, faculty, students,
visiting scholars, donors, and the general public. Successful grant writing
experience. Ability to organize and implement public outreach programs.
Demonstrated record of research, scholarship, publication and/or creative
work and service to the profession. Second master's degree or Ph.D. in
History, Political Science, American Studies or closely related fields.
Experience in strategic planning.
