There is a quote:
"Whoever destroys a single life destroys the entire world; whoever saves a
single life saves the world entire."
I believe this is from the Talmud - others may know more.

Sue Willis asks for help with "a quote . . . that I can only paraphrase from
memory: 'When a person dies, so does a world'." Perhaps others will do
better
with this than I, but it sounds to me like a version of Oscar Schindler,
according to Steven Spielberg: "Whoever saves one life saves the world
entire."
