Studio rue de la Huchette
Quiet studio apartment located in the Latin Quarter a
minute away from the place St. Michel (métro St.
Michel; also Cluny and Odéon). Situated on the third
floor (no elevator) overlooking a quiet courtyard, it
is within minutes of the Sorbonne, excellent
bookstores, shops, restaurants, the Ile de la Cité
(and Notre-Dame) with easy access to several RER and
metro lines; buses galore. The studio is within
walking distance of the Sorbonne library, the
Bibliothèque Ste. Geneviève, and provides easy access
to the BNF, both rue de Richelieu and Tolbiac. It is a
conversation away from Richelieu and the Archives
Nationales on foot. The flat is located on the rue de
la Huchette right in the heart of the most desirable
part of Paris. It is a typical studio for the area,
about 25 square meters. A truly exciting place to live
in, or to visit. Fully furnished: kitchen with
microwave oven, bathtub, double bed, linen, telephone,
radio and TV. Everything is there; just walk in and
enjoy. Telephone and utility charges are not included.
Available 1 August 2004 on, short term or long term
(700 euros monthly, 275 euros weekly).
Studio rue des Trois Frères
Small, quiet third-floor studio apartment located in
Montmartre (métro Abbesses). Ideal for one person.
Fully renovated and furnished, new floors, new carpet,
new bathroom, new "kitchenette" including microwave
oven and coffeemaker. Kitchenware, linen, blankets,
towels, telephone, radio, TV, and blow dryer are all
provided; nothing is lacking. There is a double
sofa-bed. The apartment is on the third floor (no
elevator).
Available short term or long term (600 euros monthly
or 225 euros weekly) starting July 1st 2004. Telephone
and utility charges are not included.
The neighborhood is filled with history, lively, warm
and friendly, richly deserving its reputation of
having retained a village-like atmosphere. Shop owners
remember faces, and neighbors usually know each other
well. There are many food shops in the area, small and
large (including a Monoprix and wonderful
"boulangeries"), and a great open-air market. The
locale abounds in restaurants and boasts some of the
best cafés in Paris. And people have no hesitation in
striking up a conversation. The apartment overlooks a
sunny, flower-strewn courtyard and is situated on a
charming, quiet street just up from the historic
Bateau Lavoir and Amelie Poulain?s grocery shop. The
building is also charming, older and with a special
panache. The tranquillity of the location makes you
feel like you're living in the country, with Paris at
your feet. There are no traffic sounds at all. Easy
walking distance to Sacre-Coeur, Place du Tertre, the
last vineyard in Paris (produces a lovely wine!) and
other places. Excellent bus and metro service with
easy access to the BNF, the Marais (and the Archives
Nationales), the Louvre, and much more.
Duplex rue des Trois Frères
The apartment is a small quiet duplex located in
Montmartre (métro Abbesses), same building as the flat
described just above. It overlooks the same sunny,
flower-strewn courtyard. It is on the second and third
floors (no elevator). Fully furnished, it has a
modern, American-style kitchen including oven,
microwave oven, and coffeemaker. Kitchenware, linen,
blankets, towels, telephone, radio, TV and washing
machine (clothes), in short everything you might need
is provided. Plenty of shelves and closet space. The
duplex rents for 950 euros monthly, utility charges
included. Tenants will however be responsible for
telephone charges. We prefer to rent long-term but
will consider shorter lets at 300 euros weekly,
depending on availability.
It is located on the rue des Trois Frères in a
charming area of Montmartre. See the description
above. The flat is about 40 square meters on two
floors plus a mezzanine. It was specially designed by
a professional architect and makes excellent use of
the space. Aside from the two floors (with an internal
staircase), there is a mezzanine with a double bed
accessible by inner steps; wonderful for putting up
guests. A skylight helps brighten the top levels,
although with its big double windows, it is not
needed. There is a double bed, bathroom and washing
machine on the lower floor with a small living area
with a sofa; a living area with a sofa-bed on the top
floor which also houses the kitchen and entry; above
that the mezzanine with its double bed.
Available from 1 July 2004 to 18 August 2004 and from
27 September 2004 on. 950? per month, 300? weekly as
explained above.
