Woodburn Scholarships available for the Colorado Book Market Seminars

The ABAA Benevolent Fund, in honor of Elisabeth Woodburn, is offering two
scholarships to the 26th annual Antiquarian Book Market Seminars to be held
in Colorado Springs, CO August 8-13, 2004.

The Seminar, held at The Colorado College in beautiful Colorado Springs, in
the shadow of Pikes Peak, is the first and most comprehensive seminar of its
kind for booksellers, librarians, and collectors.

The fee for the Seminar is $995.00 and includes all instructional materials,
Sunday evening reception, Monday picnic, Friday luncheon, transportation to
off-site sessions, and daily breaks. After June 1, 2004 the fee increases to
$1,095.00.

Competition for the two awards of $1,250 each is open to all. Entrants must
submit a brief essay of 500 words or less stating need and purpose; a letter
of support by an established bookseller, librarian, or collector is also
welcome. All applicants should submit materials to Ken Lopez, Trustee, ABAA

During the Seminar, ten leading specialists will share their expertise and
experience in an intensive, five-day course exploring the out-of-print,
rare, and used book trade. Students participate in formal & informal
lectures, discussions, demonstrations, & practical workshops. To register
