Re: Photocopier/scanner for books



We have being using the Minolta here in Trinity for a number of years.
It connects to a conventional photocopier and relays the image to it
using an overhead scanner.

Problems arise when a volume is too thick - i.e. half-yearly bound
copies of Illustrated London News. In this case the image is too close
to the scanner and it will fail to reproduce. 

Also, there has been an updated version in the last number of years
which is used by the National Library of Ireland. The British Library
Newspaper Library (Colindale) also have some snazzy equipment for
scanning.
