The John Carter Brown Library located at Brown University is seeking
candidates for the position of Rare Book Cataloguer who have the
training and skills necessary to catalogue Spanish and Portuguese
books printed before ca. 1825.
Qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS degree or the
equivalent; minimum of 2 years of professional rare book cataloguing
experience using AACR2-Rev., Descriptive Cataloguing of Rare Books,
LCSH, and MARC formats. Reading command of Spanish and Portuguese is
essential. Familiarity with the RLIN system and NACO experience
strongly preferred.
Salary: Minimum of $42,675, depending upon experience.
