RE: How many incunabula extant today



Three addenda to our list of 15th-century edition sizes:

1.  Breviarium Ambrosianum (Milan).  Milan: [Jacobus de Sancto Nazario de Ripa], 17 Dec. 1487
ISTC note:  A. Ganda, in La Bibliofilia 88 (1986) pp.117-30, prints the contract of Jan. 1487 between G. de Maino and Jacobus de Sancto Nazario for printing the breviary in 600 copies.

Only 3 copies survive, 2 of which are on vellum.  

2.  Cherubino da Siena, Regola della vita spirituale. Add: Regola della vita matrimoniale
[Florence: Apud Sanctum Jacobum de Ripoli, 5 Nov. 1483]
ISTC Note:  The Diario of the press records that 300 copies were printed of this edition, the work taking from 25 September (not 15 Sept., as GW) until 5 November (GW)
	
Only 5 copies survive.

3.  Breviarium Curiense (Chur)[Basel: Adam von Speyer with the material of Jacobus Wolff, de Pforzheim, after 25 Jan. 1490]
ISTC notes:  Printed in 400 copies, sold at 4 Gulden each. The printer is known only from archival records, see GW.    

Only 3 incomplete copies survive.
