I'm replying on list because others might be interested. Bridge to Asia
accepts donations of academic and professional journals and distributes them
to universities and libraries in China and other Asian countries. You have to
pay the shipping to one of their collection points (Chicago or San Francisco,
I think), but the cost is tax deductible and they provide the necessary tax
forms for the shipping and value (determined by you) of the books/journals.
