[EXLIBRIS:30296] Re: Libro degli Orti by Benedetto Curtio Sinforiano

Seven copies of Hortorum libri triginta 1560 are held in Italian libraries, the author having been identified with Benoit de Court, the Lyon bibliophile and humanist. I could not find reference to an italian translation though.

Presumably this from the BL catalogue is a translation of the Italian or
vice versa -- I suppose Sinforiano is a place name epithet of some sort.

I have a query from a researcher trying to track down a reference to a Libri
degli Orti by a Benedetto Curtio Sinforiano which is referred to in relation
to the portrayal of a plant on the whell of a chariot which is part of an
Italian fountain. The context is involved with identifying whether the plant
is a
pine or some other conifer and involves a mythological reference to the
goddess(?) Piti. The work he is translating is a fifteenth or sixteenth
century
Italian work. Can any of you identify the work in question and the
standardized
name of the author? Any help would be much appreciated.
