Effective July 1, 2005, I, Chris Mullin, will be RETIRED from my position
as Special Collections Librarian of the Mansfield Library of the
University of Montana-Missoula! But I will be
back....
Beginning Sept. 6, 2005, I'll resume work on a one-year 1/3 time
post-retirement contract, and will start listening to my phone messages
again!. I'll keep this mail address, and will check it this Summer, but
won't answer email as regularly this July and August as I will in
September.

My thanks to everyone in the library community and to all book people for
having made my working life so pleasant. I realized in the mid 1960's,
while I was spending all my spare time in an Army post library in Munich
Germany, that I wanted to spend a lot more time here. While going to
library school at the University of Washington in 1967-1969, my
appreciation of the library profession was confirmed.
Since November 1969, when I joined the faculty of the Library here at The
University of Montana-Missoula, I have felt (almost) continually
grateful that I had the opportunity to work as a librarian. Since 1987,
I have been especially happy that I have been able to serve as Special
Collections Librarian. Once again, thanks to all who have helped me learn
and enjoy!
