I am currently cataloging a book entitled, "Breve e facil introdvzzione alla geografia e trigonometria ...," printed in Padua in 1640. On the t.p. there is an ownership inscription, "Wolfg. Engelb. S.R.S. [S.R.T?] Com: ab Auersperg, Sup. Ca. Carn." together with the owner's shelf mark. I am assuming that the full name is Wolfgang Engelb[recht] or [bert], that the Auersperg is what is today called Visnja Gora in Slovenia, and that the "Carn." is "Carniola" a territory of which Lai[y]bach [Ljubljana (Slovenia)] was once the capital. In addition there is an armorial book plate on the upper pastedown endpaper, with the name "Fuerstlich Auerspergsche Fideicommisbibliothek zu Laybach". I would be most grateful if anyone could make more of the t.p. inscription than I have done. I "googled" the term "Auersperg", and came up with a website for what appears to be the castle in question, which appears to be used as a hotel today. I would also be interested if anyone can provide any fu!
rther information on the library in question.

Thanks much,
