I hate saying "thank you very much, but..." but I'm afraid I have to do so this time. I *would* like an idea of Bowers' contributions, but I have enough interest to spend only the time to read a few sentences/paragraphs about him. The article you've pointed looks wonderful and appears to be very well written -- I've read a page or two -- but it goes on for 155 pages.
