If I remember my Bible, Moses smashed the first edition

I think that was the ms., albeit in fire, rather than ink, and on stone rather than paper, but the text wasn't just any text, and the author wasn't just any author.

Actually, the first edition of *a book* in which the ten commandments
were printed is the B42, so perhaps that was the first edition. As
far as the first separate publication is concerned...

and then created
what I guess we would call the second edition since, although the text was
the same, the typography was necessarily different and it required
setting up a second time the tools necessary to create the text.
