Re: Best Memoirs of Book Collectors/Dealers?

That disdain is not recent. I've just finished editing the early critical writings of Northrop Frye for the Collected Works (the book will be out in December). The volume concludes with what I believe is his most frequently reprinted book, "The Educated Imagination" (1963), the Massey lectures commissioned by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. When the book was shortly thereafter published in the US, Frye had to fight very hard to retain the Canadian references, which were central to the discussion. He won. Germaine.
