Everett is my favourite hands down. I've read it half a dozen times. But Randall and Magee are right up there. I once had the honour of shaking the hand of the late, great, Howard Mott. I asked him if he had known Everett, and he snorted that he did, but not all those stories are true. Well, if they aren't strictly true, they ought to be. Steven Temple

I also highly recommend the Charlie Everitt book, originally recommended to me by Marvin Mondlin of the Strand Rare Book Room. C.J. Scheiner

Don't know about the best, but I've read a few titles over the last six months or so that I've really enjoyed:
1) THE ADVENTURES OF A TREASURE HUNTER by Charles P. Everitt (Little Brown, 1951). Rather cocky but charming tales from the Americana dealer. A nice read, rather breezily told.
