I don't believe anyone has mentioned Anthony Rota's delightful memoir "Books
in the Blood" about the firm of Bertram Rota Ltd. which Anthony's son Julian
Rota is poised to carry forward into the 21st century and beyond with his
lovely wife Dorothea and two children. I reviewed Anthony Rota's book for the Book
Club of California and can highly recommend it.
I saw Anthony in London this summer and suggested he write a sequel, which I
tentatively titled "More Bloody Books". This is of course an allusion to David
Magee's famous remark that the sequel to his book "Infinite Riches" would be
called "Sons of Riches". And, lest we forget, Anthony Rota is never "Tony" and
David Magee was never "Dave".
Best wishes to all, John Windle
