- Yale Daily News reports today that Smiley's state sentencing date has been
pushed back to 10/13 (reason unknown)

- The Hartford Courant has a piece on Smiley's plea for leniency, which
includes the little nugget that he's "remembered" two more stolen maps
within the last few weeks and that his long record of volunteerism should be
taken into account by the judges. Also, Robert Goldman has a new analogy for
Smiley's argument that his cooperation should be considered: "It's like
asking us to thank the murderer who dismembered the body then returned the
body parts."
