Fred's original message did appear when he posted it. Because of a glitch
when the list was set up, a lot of people do not receive copies of their own
postings, which causes them to think the postings didn't appear when they
actually did. The glitch has been fixed, and I change people's settings when
the problem comes to my attention. That was the case with Fred's account.
And remember you can always look in the archives to see if a message is
there; if it is, it got distributed.
I apologize for the fact that I posted my inquiry to the list by mistake;
it was meant only as a question for the moderator.
