I am hoping some technical services Exlibrans may be able to help with
this one --
I have recently looked at two books, one an 18th century family Bible, the
other a 17th century multilingual dictionary, both of which have
information about the former owners' families inscribed in considerable
detail.
How can one create copy-specific MARC21 *subject* access points for these
family records (or for any other subjects)? As far as I can see, it is
not possible to add $5 to 6XX fields (600 3 in these instances, for
families) to link valuable subject information to a specific copy, in the
way one can for 7XX fields.
Or have I missed something blindingly obvious?
