RBMS PRECONFERENCE ATTENDEES IN BALTIMORE AND ALA ANNUAL CONFERENCE
ATTENDEES IN WASHINGTON
Are you attending the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section
(RBMS) Preconference in Baltimore and/or the American Library Association
(ALA) Annual Conference in Washington, DC?
If so, the RBMS Membership & Professional Development Committee would like
to invite you to participate in the RBMS Buddy Program. The Buddy Program,
now in its tenth year, is designed to welcome attendees to the
Preconference as well as new RBMS members to the section and to answer
questions about the Preconference and/or the Annual Conference and about
RBMS. Attendees will be matched with more experienced RBMS members who
have volunteered to be buddies. Your buddy will contact you to arrange a
time during the conference when you can meet, and he or she will be glad
to help you plan your RBMS conference activities, introduce you to other
RBMS members, and answer your questions about the Preconference or about
the section.
If you are interested in participating in the Buddy Program, please e-mail
me at mlac@loc.gov with your name, e-mail address, and telephone number,
and let me know whether you are a new member/attendee who needs a buddy,
or if you are an experienced RBMS member who would liketo be one. If you
wish to include information about your travel dates and where you will be
staying, this will help your buddy contact you in Baltimore or Washington
if you have any difficulty connecting before you leave. If you have
already requested a buddy via the RBMS web form and have received an
acknowledgment, there is no need to submit a second request.
I look forward to hearing from you and to meeting you soon! Many thanks in
advance for your interest and participation.
