Publication Announcement: S&P 30.1

[The following message has been posted on the SHARP-L, EXLIBRIS-L and
18C-L lists]

Esteemed list-members,

I would like to announce the publication of _Script & Print: Bulletin
of the Bibliographical Society of Australia and New Zealand_ 30.1
(2006). The contents of this issue include:

George Williams and Edwina MacDonald, "Academic Freedom and the 'War on Terror"'
Harold Love, "A New Source for Rochester's 'My Dear Mistris has a Heart'"
Keith Adkins, "John Glover and his Books"
Pam Pryde, "John Noone, Government Photo-lithographer, 1861–1888"
Sandra Burt, "The BSANZ archive"
B. J. McMullin, "J. D. Fleeman, A Bibliography of the Works of Samuel
Johnson, 50.3R/21, 26, 27 (The Rambler, Hodges's edition)"
Obituaries: "David Wooley 1924-2005"; "Henri-Jean Martin 1924-2007"
Reviews: "A Chronology and Calendar of the London Book Trade
1641–1700" (reviewed by Harold Love); "The Early Records of Sir Robert
Cotton's Library" (reviewed by Susan Reynolds)

Our next issue is due for publication shortly, but articles,
bibliographical notes and reviews are invited for futures issues. The
Society, and S&P, has as its province all the studies that form part
of, or are related to, physical bibliography: the history of printing,
publishing, bookselling, type founding, papermaking, bookbinding;
paleography and codicology, writing, editing and textual bibliography.
No countries or periods are excluded from its preoccupations. The
Society encourages the interdisciplinary study of these subjects,
which are often described, collectively, as Book History or Print
Cultures. Further details about the Society, S&P, submissions, recent
and forthcoming issues, can be found on the _Script & Print_ blog:
http://scriptandprint.blogspot.com/ All enquiries ought to be directed
to me via email (scriptandprint@gmail.com) or at the address below.

Please note: as some of you will be aware, the _BSANZ Bulletin_
changed its title in 2005; I was appointed editor in 2006. The
production of the inaugural volume of _Script & Print_, 29.1–4, titled
_Paradise: New Worlds of Books and Readers_, has been delayed. (This
volume will appear shortly with contributions from Alberto Manguel,
Rimi Chatterjee, Paul Eggert, Robert Fraser, Michelle Grossman, Edward
Mack, Peter Marks, Alistair McCleery, Ian Morrison, Roger Osborne,
Elizabeth Webby and scholars from the SHARP Regional Conference,
Wellington, 2005). Because of the unavoidable delay in publishing our
inaugural volume, S&P 30.1 is both the first issue of the BSANZ's
journal to appear under its new title, and the first to appear under
my editorship.
