Darwin?s main publisher in the United States during his lifetime and well
into the 20th Century was Appleton. Does anyone know of the location of
Appleton archives ?other than at Columbia and the Lilly - that might help me
determine how many copies they published of Origin? Does anyone know of any
research done using the business archives of Appleton during the second half
of the 19th and first half of the 20th Centuries? Does anyone know of any
research done about the publication of Origin in the United States?
