LAME DUCK BOOKS in conjunction with PIERRE MENARD GALLERY and the
illustrious BLACK WIDOW PRESS is proud to present a reading by poet
CLAYTON ESHLEMAN from his new work "Archaic Design," this FRIDAY,
OCTOBER 19, 2007 at PIERRE MENARD GALLERY, 10 ARROW STREET, CAMBRIDGE, MA.
Clayton Eshleman is the author and translator of more than
thirty books including sixteen collections of poetry. His recent titles
include /Cesar Vallejo: The Complete Poetry, An Alchemist with One Eye
on Fire, /and /Reciprocal Distillations. / In addition to his work as a
translator and a poet, he has also edited two of the most influential
literary magizines of the second half of the twentieth century. The
first, /Caterpillar/, was founded by Eshleman in 1967 and published on a
quarterly basis until the Spring of 1973. Then, in 1981, along with
contributing editor Robert Kelly, Eshleman founded /Sulfur/ magazine,
whose contributing editors soon grew to include Michael Palmer, Jerry
Rothenberg and Eliot Weinberger, to name the early few.
The reading will commence at 7 PM, and there will be a
reception in the author's honor to follow. As always, events at Pierre
Menard Gallery are free and open to the public. We hope you can attend.
