It will be a good chance for Germany to demonstrate the sincerity of its
interest in and care for its cultural heritage to buy the manuscript. It is
easy enough for politicians to vote laws. Why not vote to buy the
manuscript?

Readers who are able to read German will find at
http://archiv.twoday.net/stories/4437962/http://archiv.twoday.net/stories/4304639/
some background Mr "deuffic" conceils. Sotheby's is auctioning German
cultural property which should be protected by law as national
cultural property. The owner, a dubious foundation of the Gotha
family, has brought the manuscripts outside of our country before the
registration process was initiated.
