Re: Dunlap broadside



Actually there is a very interesting Dunlap broadside. It is etched,
and shows a guy who had been living among Dunlap's friends for a
while, who Dunlap identifies as a would be bigamist, a thief and a
swindler. The text is one page and the portrait the other. It is rare
alright, but I was able to use the copy in the Hudson Museum Dunlap
show some ten or fifteen years ago to identify it. Dunlap seems to
have been a fairly straight arrow. Also various scoundrels should
know better than to play around while an artist with a terrific sense
of portraiture is right there looking at them. Who knows, he may have
been sketching him, too.
