Sender: Rare book and manuscripts <EXLIBRIS-L@LISTSERV.INDIANA.EDU>
The liturgical language of Ethiopian is Ge'ez, and it is distinctive
because it is the only Hamo-Semitic family of languages written from
left to right. Is this a manuscript copy of the Gospel or is it
printed? Do you know anything about its date. Its condition cries
for conservation steps, but before such an investment, you should
find out more about the volumes. I've seen illustrations of other
Ge'ez language volumes which were quite similar in style to those you've shown.

Greetings,
I was helping out in a library's special collections and came across
two Ethiopian volumes about which the library has very little
information. I would be curious to hear what further information
about these volumes I could glean from the collective wisdom of Exlibris.
I'm particularly interested in hearing if people have any estimates
of age, and seeing that there are many dealers on the list, value.
thanks for any assistance,
Kevin
