John,

I enjoyed reading this one.  (I had caught only part of it when it was
broadcast.)  I'm glad you posted this response.

I'm just back from a couple of days in Waxahachie.  Sims and the dogs
came this time, and we are reading the new history of Texas (Passionate
Nation) to each other on cart trips now.  It is very readable, and makes
the miles fly by.  We have gotten through the battle of San Jacinto.  It
is evidently quite amazing that Texas ever achieved independence.
