Has anyone tried to correlate the production capacity of the paper makers
to the potential print runs ?

Presumably the business of paper making took off after Gutenberg
as did the capacity of Intel et al. after the original PCs became common.

Remembering a novel by Cynthia Harnett "The Load of Unicorn"
based on the premise that the "scriveners" tried to prevent
Caxton from getting paper to print on ...

Just curious ...
