One source of excellent information about the restoration and conservation
of fabrics, lay and ecclesiastical, is the Abegg-Stiftung in Switzerland.
They might have suggestions for suppliers of the appropriate fabrics in your
area.
Otherwise, you might find some useful information in their wonderfully rich
book:
Flury, Lemberg, Mechthild, TEXTILE CONSERVATION AND RESEARCH. A
DOCUMENTATION OF THE TEXTILE DEPARTMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE TWENTIETH
ANNIVERSARY OF THE ABEGG FOUNDATION. Bern: Schriften der Abegg-Stiftung,
1988 (also available in German)
They also have a very interesting and wide-reaching series of books.
They can be contacted at:

Hope this is of some help, best regards,
