Pin Holes—Desert Series #2

Sixteen pin-hole photographs, shot by the binder. Exposed spine sewn with vintage silk on kangaroo leather thongs, covers made from vintage Victorian ceiling tile, edges and inner decorations constructed from vintage bias tape. In a drop-spine box constructed from printers’ wood blocks and paste paper made by the binder. 18.5 x 12.5 x 1.5 centimeters. Created 2006.


Charlene Matthews is a full time bookbinder, working in restoration, box making, art fabrication and book arts. Her work can be found worldwide. She is also crazy about her oatmeal box pin-hole camera. Website at www.charlenematthews.com.
