polymerization
A chemical reaction involving the linkage of the
molecules of a monomer to form large(r) molecules
with a molecular weight greater than that of the
original monomer. When two or more monomers so
react, the process is termed copolymerization or
heteropolymerization. See also: CONDENSATION (1) .
