white gold

A pale gold alloy which somewhat resembles silver or platinum and usually contains nickel with or without other metals, such as copper, tin, or zinc. It is used to a limited extent for embellishing books. It is considerably thicker than regular (23 1/2 karat) gold leaf. (130 )
